MaRS welcomes new Canadian Citizens!

On January 19, the ICC’s Building Citizenship team hosted an enhanced citizenship ceremony at the MaRS building in Downtown Toronto. Two guest speakers included Dr. Ilse Treurnitcht and Lekan Olawoye, who shared their stories about coming to Canada. For the first time, this ceremony also included a spoken word artist from Unity Chair, Diamond Osoteo. The ceremony concluded with new citizens by singing O Canada with the choir and enjoying some delicious Canada themed cupcakes!

Quick fact!
