Canadian War Museum honours Sir Isaac Brock

The CMA made news last month with a visit to a school in Ajax, and brought along a piece of history – a 200 year old red army jacket, which was displayed in the school fair. The jacket belonged to Sir Isaac Brock, who was argued to be “the Greatest Canadian Ever” by a Grade 8 student who had written a heartfelt letter asking the Canadian War Museum to bring it to her school fair.

Ahlan! Welcome! Bienvenue!

We’re excited to announce the Ahlan Cultural Access Pass program! Ahlan is the Arabic word for “welcome” and “bienvenue”. In response to the Syrian refugee resettlement project across Canada, the ICC created the Ahlan CAP program to connect newcomers and their families with cultural attractions, experiences and Canadians in their communities for free! Newcomers can sign up at, and receive invitations to facilitated tours and events with Arabic speakers at cultural attractions in their community. They can meet new people, make connections, and have fun!

Are you sponsor or settlement counsellor? Share with newcomers in your community!  #AhlanCanada
