Art Museum at the University of Toronto

 Check out this great exhibition: Form Follows Fiction: Art and Artists in Toronto | September 6, 2016 - December 10, 2016. Curated by internationally renowned Toronto - based artist Luis Jacob, Form Follows Fiction: Art and Artists in Toronto concentrates on a period of more than fifty years to consider the ways in which artists visualize Toronto, presenting 86 artists. Canada's Sports Hall of Fame

A new exhibit in honour of Terry Fox is open at Canada's Sports Hall of Fame from July through December, 2016. Inducted in 1981, he is a universally recognized Canadian hero. Running almost a marathon a day, Terry Fox covered 5374 kilometers in 143 days. His goal was to raise awareness for cancer research and $1 for every Canadian a the time during his Marathon of Hope. Visitors will learn Terry's stories from before the run, his life on the road, his triumphs, and struggles and what kind of impact he and his foundation have made over the years. Artefects on display include the shoe he dipped into the Atlantic Ocean at the beginning of his journey, the shirt and shorts he ran in, and iconic photos. Be inspired by a Canadian who dared to dream big and help others!

The #AhlanCanada program visited Halifax for a wonderful day at the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 and the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. Newcomer friends and #CAPCanada volunteers even took part in a Harbour Tour on Theadore the Tugboat!

6 Degrees Citizen Space

In less than two weeks, the ICC's inaugural 6 Degrees Citizen Space will bring politicans, business leaders, visionaries, activities, humanitarians, artists and educators to Toronto to find radical and radically inclusive solutions to challenges of citizenship in the 21st century. 6 Degrees participants and partners are at the forefront of efforts to both repsond to the challenges of our time and envision new, more inclusive futures.

CAP Spotlight

This month, 10 current and former CAP members will be heading to Toronto to become CAP Rapporteurs at our inaugural 6 Degrees Citizen Space happening on September 19, 20, 21. These 10 individuals were selected by an ICC committee to represent the CAP program at 6 Degrees, to drive important discussions at the event and carry those ideas off-site, on behalf of the ICC. These rapporteurs will share on their experience at 6 Degree in an online report, which we will share in our upcoming newsletters!
