About the ICC Youth Network (YN)
The Institute for Canadian Citizenship’s Youth Network brings together Canadian youth (under the age of 30) from across Canada who are interested in and would like to become more engaged in citizenship topics.
Membership is FREE.
Why should I become a member of the YN?
- Learn together about citizenship hot topics and how to be and remain active and responsible citizens in different communities
- Voice opinions on citizenship topics, engage in dialogues and exchange ideas about topics such as citizenship education, citizen engagement, public space stewardship, capacity building, and global citizen engagement
- Play a key role in developing ICC projects and programs
- Get connected with a network of youth and experts in citizenship from across Canada
- Develop personal and professional skills

Once we receive your registration email, we will invite you to an orientation conference call. The call is FREE of charge. At that time you will connect with other YN members so that we can get to know each other better and ensure you get the most out of the YN.
What are the YN members currently working on
- Help organize citizenship ceremonies across Canada
- Establish a youth citizenship committee
- Volunteer at ICC (practice special skills)
- Intern at ICC (research, outreach, project development, etc.)
- Conduct tours for Cultural Access Pass holders
- Building networks (contacts with experts, linking with other organizations)
Some other ways to become involved in YN include:
- “Buddy” with a new citizen in your community
- Share your thoughts on citizenship/immigration conferences that you recently attended
- Get sponsored to participate in special citizenship engagement programs
- Participate in developing civic education models
- Share with us any other ideas on how you can become involved
- Form a university/college-based citizenship student group
