Country of Birth: Georgia Date of Canadian Citizenship: March 14, 2011
After three months as a CAP member, Nana became a donor to the Institute for Canadian Citizenship (ICC). Her experience as a CAP member inspired her to make a gift to the ICC to help welcome other new Canadian citizens like herself.
“I couldn’t believe that I could have access to the most important museums in for free. I went the next day, March 15, to pick up my CAP card at the University of Toronto Arts Centre and the same very day I was at the Royal Ontario Museum, the Bata Shoe Museum and the Gardiner Museum. I keep it always in my wallet,” she says. When asked what this opportunity meant to Nana as a new Canadian citizen, she said, “It is incredible and I learn more and more about my new country.”
A gift to each new Canadian citizen during their first year of citizenship, the Cultural Access Pass provides complimentary admission to museums and more than 1000 of Canada's other cultural treasures across the country.
